2012 Kingfish Tournament will be held April 14.
The 2012 Kingfish Tournament Captains Party & Silent Auction will be Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure at the Harborview Center. The tournament will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 and the weigh-in will take place at Clearwater Harbor Marina at Coachman Park.
Team Laramee Wins 2011 Rotary Kingfish Tourney
What a beautiful weekend! Saturday afternoon’s Weigh-in Party was enjoyed by more Rotarians and some tired anglers (many who have taken part before and some new teams). One team was ecstatic, and others quite happy too as they took home checks for their efforts in the choppy water that day: 
David Laramee’s team brought in the largest Kingfish (20.74 lbs) to net $5000; Chris Mariani’s team took second (14.35 lbs); Hugh Leisure, 3rd place (13.14); 
Eric Moser, 4th (10.16); & Roland Hurney collected a check for largest Spanish Mackerel (4.64 lbs.).
Our own Lee Arnold won the Rotarian Cup this year, with a King weighing 9.81 lbs. See Photos of the Party.
The Clearwater Rotary Kingfish Tournament
The tournament is held every spring and is regarded as the one you don't want to miss. It's the most exciting way to raise money for charity ever dreamed of! Most people figure a day of fishing on the bright blue seas is a great way to spend time.
When you consider that the money goes to charity it becomes apparent this a fine way to compete for cash & prizes, support local charities and enjoy the friendship of your fellow team mates. Winners from previous tournaments have gone down is the annals of history to become a legend in their own minds.

Live bait is always plentiful and sportsmen find the fertile fishing grounds minutes from Clearwater Beach's world class marina. Many successful captains find trolling the best way to snag a smoker. Year after year Clearwater Rotary has proven they know how to put on a tournament that is pure fun from the festive Captain's Meeting all the way to the weigh-in Saturday night.
